Introduction

Kate Gadd – Children’s Speech and Language Therapy in Sevenoaks

Communication can be a complex journey.  For many children, sharing their thoughts and ideas can feel tricky.  Whether your child is struggling with listening, finding the right words or speaking clearly, Speech and Language Therapy can often be the key to unlocking potential.

I specialise in play-based, child-led therapy.  I believe therapy works best when it feels like the highlight of the day and not a clinical appointment.  Whether we are playing on the floor of the clinic or collaborating with your child’s nursery or school, my goal is always to make therapy something that we all look forward to!

I place a strong emphasis on collaboration. Parents are the experts on their children and are the most important people in their child’s communication journey. My role is to build on the strengths your family already has, ensuring you feel confident, connected, and empowered to support your child every day.

I offer tailored assessments and intervention from the clinic in Sevenoaks. I know that it can feel daunting for a child being in a new environment and meeting someone for the first time.  If you are concerned about how your child might react, let’s talk about it. Before your first visit, we can discuss exactly what will put your child at ease, ensuring they feel safe and recognised as the capable communicator that they are.

  • Early Language Support: Helping ‘late talkers’ to communicate and supporting children who find it tricky to understand spoken language
  • Children who have unclear speech sounds or difficulty being understood by others
  • Stammering: Specialist support using Parent Child Interaction Therapy
  • Children with differences in their social communication and interaction, whether they have a diagnosis of Autism or are simply navigating their social world differently
  • Children who learn language in ‘chunks’ or scripts and use songs or learned phrases to communicate

Let’s talk about your child’s next steps The first step is often a simple conversation. I offer a complimentary 15 minute telephone call to discuss your concerns and see if I am the right fit for your family.
